Comfortable Words for Loss &?Grief

Back when this lovely volume was extremely easy to acquire at local bookstores, I kept a spare copy as an extra-special “condolence card”. The year “The Next Place” was first published, a dear friend of my Momma’s brought her a copy while she grieved the permanent loss of her good health. (COPD is a miserably uuugly disease!) Ever since then , this dear little volume has been wagged all over the country-side and has been the star feature & the read-aloud at wakes & funerals for all manner of folks. Though technically it’s considered children’s literature it’s been my “go-to” for folks of all ages and stages oh life. It’s platitude-free preachy-free comfortable words are very, very special to me. I hope to soon place a copy in our local public library in memory of a special fellow! In my minds eye, I can just see him reading it aloud to his youngest child!!! Meanwhile I heartily recommend this dab of very comfortable & comforting words for anyone and everyone. Whether ...younger or older, religious or non-religious, grieving or not, it’s a fine way to gently lift spirits.
